Charles Estil Horn passed away at the Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia on January 28, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in Whitewood, VA to John Henry Horn and Bessie Smith Horn on December 8, 1927.
He was a retired preparation plant foreman for Knox Creek Coal Company. Charles was greatly loved by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Bessie Horn; two brothers, Amos Horn and Frank Horn; one half-sister, Beulah Looney.
He is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years, Janice (Jan) Horn; one daughter, Kimberly (Michael) McClary of Lexington, KY; three grandsons, Jonathan Kelly McClary, William Joseph McClary, and Nicholas Charles McClary of Lexington, KY; one sister, Elizabeth Street of Grundy, VA.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, January 31 at Claypool Hill Church of Christ. Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. and the service will begin at 7:00 P.M. with the Rev. Bob Smith, Rev. Dennis Wimmer, Rev. Jerry Bliffen and Rev. Mike Rife officiating. Entombment will be Wednesday, February 1 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum # 1. Active Pallbearers will be Jonathan McClary, Will McClary, Nick McClary, Josiah Horn, Frank Horn, Michael McClary and Philip Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Javed, Larry Stacy, Glenn Muncy, Dennis Hardy, Roger Hensley, Johnny Blankenship, Vaughn Lester, Carson Brown, Doug Cannady, and Bill Cook.
