Kenneth (Pal) Shortridge age 75, of Belfast, VA passed away at his home on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Born October 31, 1941, he was the son of the late Turk and Edith Shortridge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Shortridge. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a retired Federal Mine Inspector and a member of the Laurel Creek Free Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Stiltner Shortridge; one son, Kenneth E. Shortridge, Jr. of Richlands, VA; three daughters, Kim Shortridge of Baton Rouge, LA, Becky Witt and husband Jerry of Johnson City, TN, Stephanie Sabo of Lebanon, VA; one grandson, Austin Shelton of Belfast, VA; one granddaughter, Tori Shelton of Lebanon, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Bobby Laney officiating. The family will receive friends after 5:00 P.M. prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 9 at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Pallbearers will be Johnny Potter, Paul McGraw, Larry Ratcliff, Austin Shelton, Davy Sledge, and Jerry Witt.
