Harry Ringstaff age 86 of Abingdon, VA passed away in Bristol, TN Thursday, September 1, 2016. Born July 3, 1930, he was the son of the late Henry Seymore Ringstaff and Arminda White Ringstaff. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W and past commander of the Casey-Short VFW Post 9640. He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl Ringstaff, Graham Ringstaff, Finley Ringstaff, and Raymond Ringstaff; two sisters, Mary King and Billie Harrison; one granddaughter, Arminda Leigh Phipps.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ella Jackson Ringstaff; one daughter, Laura Phipps and husband Stewart of Abingdon, VA; two granddaughters, Emily Price and husband Brett, Mary Katherine Shepherd and husband Martin; two great granddaughters, Atleigh Kate Price and Natalie Ruth Shepherd; one brother, Paul Ringstaff of North Tazewell, VA; two special sisters-in-law, Ellen (Crick) Jackson and Helen Robinson; four nieces, Carolyn Taylor, Judy Maxwell, Priscilla McReynolds, and Marsha Bryant.
Services for Mr. Harry Ringstaff will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Donald Thayer and Rev. Annette Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Estes, Pete Barger, Garland Leonard and Joe Naffah.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
