Billy Gene Davis, Sr. age 70 of Swords Creek, VA passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at his home. Born March 1, 1946, he was the son of the late William and Dollie Dunford Davis. He was a member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle. He was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA 6167. He was a professional hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant brother, one daughter, Delores Davis, three brothers, Donald Davis, Lee Davis, and June Davis.
He is survived by his wife Lois Ann Shelton Davis; three sons, Bill Davis and wife Ranetta of Swords Creek, VA, Randy Davis and wife Jeanie of Shorts Gap, VA, Robert Davis and wife Jessica of Richlands, VA; one daughter, Rebecca Davis of Ashboro, NC; two sisters, Helen Alberts and husband Billy of Maryland, Dollie Mae Gross and husband Richard of Christiansburg, VA; one brother, Louis Davis and wife Matt of Richmond, VA; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; special buddy his dog Ranger.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Cornerstone Tabernacle in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Pastor Rick Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
