William Charles ‘BILL’ Harr, age 79, of Pounding Mill, VA passed away Saturday July 2, 2016 at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center in Abingdon, VA. Born at Blountville, TN he was the son of the late Joe Charles and Lutie McConnell Harr. Bill was a 1955 graduate of Blountville High School and was retired from Tennessee Eastman Chemical Company. Bill enjoyed antique automobiles. Bill was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church and was a former member of the First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his first wife, Nancy Elliott Harr and a daughter Stacy Elaine Knight.
He is survived by his wife, Jetty Casey-Harr; one son, George E. Harr and wife Corena; three grandsons, Justin Moody, Bobby Knight and Stewart Harr; one granddaughter, Ashley Harr; great grandson Carson Ferrell; one brother, Dale Harr; one sister Linda Harr Nottingham; two step sons, Jeff Casey and wife Sandi and Jon Casey and wife Lynda; two step grandsons, Aaron and Caleb Casey; three step granddaughters, Julia and Amelia Casey and Lindsay Salyers; step great grandson, Layton Salyers.
It was Bill’s wish that he be cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 8 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church, 236 Old Kentucky Turnpike, Cedar Bluff, VA with Pastor Annette Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church from 11 A.M. until time of the service.
A Celebration of Life Service will also be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Holly Springs United Methodist Church, 5568 Bloomingdale RD, Blountville, TN.
