Curtis Whitt, age 62 of Swords Creek, Virginia went to be with the Lord Friday, June 10, 2016 at his home. Born September 8, 1953 in Russell County, he was the son of the late Willard Whitt and Laura Whitt, Swords Creek, Virginia.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Kathy Whitt; two daughters, Heather Stillwell and husband Michael, Pounding Mill, Virginia, Ashley Whitt, Swords Creek, Virginia; one sister, Freda Gay Hayes and husband Calvin, Abingdon, Virginia; four grandchildren, Lauren Stillwell, Desirea Ayers, Logan Stillwell, Skylar Ayers; mother-in-law, Emma Absher and husband Jerry, Road Ridge, Virginia; two nephews, Justin Baldwin and Derrick Shaver.
The family would like to convey a special thanks to Dr. Bidros and CVMC Oncology Nursing Staff, Theresa Stevenson, Laura Reynolds and Helping Hands Hospice and Home Health.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 P.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel, Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Pastor Mickey Hale and Pastor Eddie Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Chambers Cemetery, Davis Mountain, Virginia. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Elswick, Junior Whitt, David Baldwin, J.D. Webb, Jerry Absher, Doug Dye, Les Deskins and Darrell Cordle.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 P.M. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Singleton Funeral Service, Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
