Dan Keen age 65 of Richlands, Virginia passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 after an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Clyde and Hazel Keen. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Dan enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Stiltner Keen; one daughter, Tammy Payne and husband Bill of Winston Salem, NC; one step daughter, Marta Farmer of Montana; three step sons, Jerry Domby and wife Tasha of Coeburn, VA, Tim Ward and wife Kaylah of Bristol, VA, and Kenneth Ward and wife Amanda of Clintwood, VA; one sister, Linda Smith and husband Raymond of Richlands, VA; seven grandchildren, Tyger Moore, Holly Payne, Benji Yellin, Piper Ward, Jaxon Domby, Mason Domby, and Adeline Ward; one nephew, Rodney Rife; great niece, Abigail Forrest and several other nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Dan Keen will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with the Evangelist Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins Cemetery at White Mountain, VA. Casey-Short VFW Post 9640 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Pallbearers will be Rodney Rife, Jerry Domby, Timothy Ward, Justin Beavers, Brian Beavers, David Mullins, Larry Mullins, Jr., and Bill Payne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Mullins, Hobert Beavers, and Raymond Smith. Special thanks to Dr. Bidros and his staff, Robyn, Becky, and Tina and the Clinch Valley Medical Center Oncology and Radiation Department.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA.
