SPC Jonathan McGinnis of Richlands, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born December 30, 1987, he was the son of James McGinnis and Dannette Ballew. He was a member of the 1032 Transportation Company Virginia National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Julie Rebekah Cordle McGinnis; daughter JayLee Noel McGinnis; brother James L. McGinnis and wife Elizabeth and children, Aiden, Jeremiah and Hannah; step-mother, Rose McGinnis; sisters Nicole McGinnis, Tara Jackson and husband Heath and children, Cynthia McClanahan and husband Eric and children, Madilyn Brooke Cordle; step-sister Jenny Compton McMurray and husband Roger and children; step-brother Chase Compton and wife Jessica; grandparents Shirley Ann Turner and Harold Windom Turner; mother-in-law Juquetta Perkins and fiancée Johnny Ray Owens; father-in-law Jimmy Cordle and wife Cheryl Lynn; special nieces and nephews Colton McMurray, Walker McMurray, Leah Compton, Jake Compton, Sabrinia Compton, Anthony Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Kaden Jackson, Shaun Jackson, Mason Hunter McClanahan, Izabella McClanahan; and his brothers and sisters with the 1032 Transportation Company Virginia National Guard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Dickie Plaster officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of the National Guard will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
