Jimmy (Big Jim) Ray Crockett, age 68 of Amonate, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home. Born December 11, 1947 at Richlands, Virginia he was the son of the late Raymond Perry Crockett, Sr. and Maxie Louise Fugate Crockett. He was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran having served two tours.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by infant brother, David Paul Crockett.

He is survived by one brother, Raymond (Butch) Crockett and wife Patty, Amonate, Virginia; one sister, Linda Calhoun and husband Tamer (Chief), Amonate, Virginia, one adopted brother, David Perry Crockett, Pocahontas, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia with Rev. Roger Barnette officiating. Casey Short VFW Post 9640 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends after 12:00 noon Friday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
