Donald (Ducky) Nipper, age 77 of Raven, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Born February 15, 1939 at Red Ash, Virginia. He was the son of the late Alonzo and Laura Newberry Nipper. He was a disabled coal miner and retired from Old Grundy Hospital. He was a volunteer fireman with Oakwood Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joe Nipper and 2 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Granny) Nipper; two daughters, Becky Nipper of Osborne Mountain, VA and Vicky Lambert and husband Dwayne of Burlington, NC; two sons, Richard Nipper of Osborne Mountain, VA and Charlie Ellis Nipper and wife Lora of Richlands, VA; daughter-in-law, Joyce Nipper of Red Root Ridge, VA; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, James Nipper of Port Huron, MI; two sisters, Peggy Smith of Richlands, VA and Mona Cordle and husband Buford of Tazewell, VA; step mother Wanda Hagy of Tazewell, VA and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.

Funeral services for Donald (Ducky) Nipper will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Ronnie Jarman and Rev. Rick Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Walter Osborne Mountain Cemetery at Osborne Mountain, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Christopher Nipper, Ethan Lambert, Ryan Lambert, Cody Cordle, Arnie Nickel, Jim Coker, Marty Hill, Dillan Little, and Jack Honaker.
