Marvil Maynard, age 71 of Abingdon, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home. Born January 22, 1945 in Holden, WV he was the son of the late Jake and Blanche Dale Maynard. He was a member of the Pruner Masonic Lodge #254 at Honaker, VA and a member of the Tazewell/Russell Shrine. He worked for Consol for 37 years and was a member of Ruth Street Church of God in Abingdon, Virginia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law William Absher.
He is survived by children Kimberly Absher of Richlands, Virginia, Tina Tickle and husband Sonny of Florence, S.C. and Clint Maynard and wife Sarah of Pounding Mill, Virginia; sisters Brenda Runyon of Parma Heights, Oh, Anita Chambers of Inman, S.C. and Mary Keen of Chesnee, S.C.; grandchildren Kayla Eads and husband Jd, Brandi Absher, Zachary Tickle, Jayce Tickle, Jaelyn Owens, Coltan Owens and Dakotah Street; ex-wife Joyce Maynard; special friend Edith Moser and his dog he loved very much – Precious.
Marvil Maynard funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Jackie Cox and Rev. Shane Breeding officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m.
